About Us

In 2001, Gopa Gupta, a graduate from International Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD), launched Akarshaan. with the aim of providing exclusive and quality fashionable garments Akarshaan draws inspiration from the rich traditional values available in the rich and varied cultures existing in different parts of India. The fashion brand utilises the expertise of professional trained to design garments creatively to add perfection in the existing traditional designs such as Fulkari work, Gara Parsi embroidery and Madhubani painting for everyday use.

Akarshaan is a fashion brand for stylish women and men who believe that being rare and unique is a style statement. Based in The City of Joy where people fuse Indian tradition with Western culture into their lifestyle, Akarshaan offers tantalizing garments and accessories that are crafted by trained and skilled ladies in order to meet the casual and occasional styling luxuries of our clients.

The collection for women at Akarshaan is enticing – with a wide variety of exclusive ethnic and Indo-western garments such as sarees, lehengas, kurtis, salwar suits, Patiala and jackets. That’s not all, complementing textures of fashion jewelry, handbags and other accessories add to your statement – thus making your appearance stand out!

The uniqueness of Akarshaan lies in its ethnic wearable textiles. At this designer fashion brand, the definition of ethnic goes beyond ‘just a kind of wearable’. We define ethnic as a blending of rich-cultural values that exist across 29 States and 7 Union Territories of the country! Some of our popular designs include Katchhi work, Kalamkari painting, Fulkari work, Gara parsi Embroidery, Bengal Patachitra painting, Zardosi work and the ever popular Madhubani painting. Hence, our designers go from village-to-village and bring out the most enticing designs of fabrics from every caste or tribe residing in these remote regions – offering the most unique and cultural line of wearable textiles.

The exclusivity of all the fashion wears you discover at Akarshaan is worth a mention because of the tailoring expertise invested by the designer to turn every piece into a masterpiece specially created for you. By designer, we refer to Gopa Gupta, who is the lead designer and creator of all fashion wears and accessories at Akarshaan. The assistance of other women, who blend the cultural values and across-the-boundary styles into the fabrics adds to the exclusivity of each wearable textile
